Anita Morton, RN BN (Hons) – Clinical Nurse Advisor
Anita has more than 20 years’ experience in community nursing, teaching and industry. Coupled with an extensive background in nurse education, pressure area care and negative pressure wound therapy, Anita truly believes that education is the key to excellence in care.
Nicola Hopkins, RN, RM BSc (Hons) & PCET – Clinical Nurse Advisor
Working within the Care Home sector in quality, governance and clinical skills training roles, Nicola was instrumental in supporting audits and incident trend analysis to improve care quality, as well as supporting Home Managers during regulatory inspections with the Care Quality Commission, local authorities, and beyond.
Valerie Dowley, RGN, BSc (Hons), Professional Practice, Associate Fellow (AFHEA) & Queens Nurse – Independent Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist
Valerie is an independent Tissue Viability Nurse with more than 16 years’ experience working as the community TVN lead, alongside 30+ years as a registered nurse. Valerie also works as a senior lecturer at the University of Brighton teaching communication and tissue viability across the pre and post graduate courses.
Carole Young, RGN, BSc (Tissue Viability), PGCert Healthcare Education, PGCert TVLC, PNA, FNF Scholar – Independent Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist
Carole was the lead tissue viability nurse specialist at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust for more than 20 years, working on a number of regional and national initiatives. She is an associate lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University teaching tissue viability related clinical skills for pre-registration student nurses.
Louisa Reeve, RN BSc (Hons) – Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist
Louisa is a Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist working at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust since 2017. She is also undertaking her Wound Healing and Tissue Repair (MSc) at Cardiff University, having completed a post-graduate Tissue Viability and Wound Management MSc module via University of Huddersfield. With a background of working within Care Homes pre-Nursing, Community Nursing in Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire localities, her true passion lies in Tissue Viability, thoroughly enjoying educating others promoting health care for patients and service users.
Natalie Dugdale, RGN, BSc & MSc (Nursing) – Registered Nurse
Natalie has 34 years’ experience working across health and social care. She qualified as a nurse in 1995 and spent 16 years working within dermatology, across hospital and community services. More recently Natalie established a consultancy and now works independently supporting both care providers and other businesses in the industry.
Gillian McPake, RN, BSc (Health Health Studies, incl Wound Management & Tissue Viability) – Independent Health & Social Care Consultant
Gillian has a wealth of experience working in the health and social care sectors, holding senior leadership and practitioner roles throughout the UK. Throughout her 15 years of experience, she successfully obtained a Regulation of Care Award (ROCA) whilst employed as an Inspector with the Care Inspectorate (Scotland), and is experienced in inspection, complaints, registration and enforcement.
Carole Stockman, RGN, Dip HE in nursing, Bsc (hons) specialist practitioner (District Nursing), Community Nurse Prescriber – Clinical Nurse Advisor
Carole works across many specialties, including the Dermatology team as leg ulcer specialist. Taking this skill into the community, Carole qualified as a District Nurse with a passion for wound care and pressure ulcer prevention. She has also lectured for Associate Nurse students at Coventry University and supported medical students from Warwick University during their community placement module.
Rachael Franco, RN (Adult Nursing), BSc (Biological Science), PGDiploma (Wound Healing and Tissue Repair), PGCert (Evidence Based Practice) – Registered Nurse, Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist
As a Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist, Rachael has worked in both hospital and community settings, applying problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. As an Associate Lecturer and Module Coordinator at Edge Hill University, Rachael has taught degree courses in Tissue Viability and Leg Ulcer Management. As a strong advocate for evidence-based practice to enhance patient care, her comprehensive knowledge of wound management, including pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, and complex surgical wounds, makes her an invaluable resource for both healthcare professionals and patients.
Delma Duffus-Grovell, RN, BSc (Hons) (Healthcare Practice Tissue Viability), MA, Non-Medical Prescriber-V300, Associate Fellow (AFHEA), Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist
Delma is a Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist with over 8 years of experience and 22 years as a registered nurse. With a BSc (Hons) in Healthcare Practice (Tissue Viability), she has been a District Nurse Team Leader and Community Staff Nurse. Since 2016, she has worked at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, where she coordinates education programmes on tissue viability for healthcare professionals. Delma has also contributed to the field by writing for academic journals, including the British Nursing Journal and Journal of Community Nursing.
