ESG At OSKA
OSKA is fully committed to ESG, sustainability, caring for our people, and making a positive impact on our local community and stakeholders. As part of our efforts, we are proud to have achieved Carbon Neutral status and Green Mark Level 1, reflecting our dedication to reducing environmental impact and upholding responsible business practices.

Helping our Community
The community around us is one that both encourages & guides us to grow. Our Head Office is based on the South Coast of England – a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) where beauty is not sparce.
As a business, we have a duty to ensure its beauty is upheld through working together to preserve nature, wildlife habitats and local environments.

Sustainability
We understand the importance of balancing design and service with ethical and environmental policies. Everyone plays a part in caring for the environment and by ensuring our timber is responsibly sourced and suitably certified we are continuing to support good forest management. We are committed to minimising the activities which potentially place risk on our environment and strive to promote the development of sustainability by continuous improvements.
We are Green Mark Level 1 certified, an internationally recognised environmental certification.

Supporting Charities
Given the landscape in which we operate, OSKA takes pride in being a business who cares. Whether that be our people, our ethics & values, our environment, or our customers.
We also care for the people who need it most. We devote time & effort into raising funds & participating in events. We also support many charities such as The Grace Trust and RRT supporting vital causes such as education, the alleviation of poverty, and the provision of humanitarian relief.
The OSKA Promise

Reducing Waste Disposal
OSKA is committed to helping Care Providers to reduce the amount of foam they send to waste disposal by introducing pressure care mattresses that last up to 3 times longer.
With our innovative V-Guard Technology & ToughWeld seams, not only are we greatly reducing the environmental impact from condemned mattresses, we’re also helping Care Providers to save money. Longer product cycles and mindful consumption reduces the amount of foam going into landfill, therefore reducing our combined environmental impact.

Reduce, Reuse & Recycle
To drive sustainable everyday practices in the office, we have installed categorised waste bins to separate our general waste, mixed recycling, plastic, paper, card & aluminium, as well as mixed glass. We encourage transferable habits that everyone can act on within their everyday lives.
Furthermore, in low traffic areas our lights are sensor-operated, driving down energy consumption when not required. LED light bulbs throughout our offices are used as the most energy efficient source of our lighting.

Certification & Accreditation
Our commitment to environmental & quality certification and accreditation ideals is demonstrated in our awards.
We are proud to have been awarded:
ISO 14001: 2015
ISO 9001: 2015
ISO 13485: 2016

Efficient Transportation
As well as offering our mattress recycling scheme, where possible we are transporting our mattresses either rolled or vacuum packed.
Although product packaging uses necessary plastic to ensure clinical regulations are upheld and your mattress is not compromised, utilising vacuum packing eliminates the need for excess and unnecessary plastic use. This allows us to increase the number of mattresses carried per truck, therefore reducing our overall environmental footprint on the road.

Mattress Recycling Scheme
Did you know that your journey with OSKA doesn’t end when you purchase a mattress?
OSKA offers a mattress recycling programme, making it easier than ever to ensure you are offsetting your carbon footprint. Recycling, diverting and repurposing mattress materials to create a circular and sustainable product journey is just one of OSKA’s sustainability commitments.

Quality Standards
As part of our commitment to testing standards and quality management, our products are independently tested and manufactured in accordance with recognised British and European Standards.

Meet OSKA’s Green Team!
Across our business OSKA understands the importance of sustainability. OSKA’s Green Team, made up of leaders and team members from across the business, is tasked with ensuring sustainable business operations where possible, and driving motivation to keep sustainability efforts high.
From taking charge of recycling and limiting paper consumption in the office, to beach cleans, and hosting companywide events promoting sustainable actions, our Green Ambassadors excel in reducing OSKA’s environmental footprint.
Spotlighting Our Latest ESG Activities
Carbon Neutral Business
It has never been more important for businesses to step up and take account of the environmental impact associated with their operations. That’s what we’re doing here at OSKA.
Looking to do our part for the environment, OSKA engaged with Carbon Neutral Britain in January 2025, with the ambition to measure and offset the total organisation emissions – to become Carbon Neutral.
Food Bank Donations
While many of us gather with loved ones around tables full of food, light and warmth, there are families in our community facing empty cupboards. No one should go hungry, especially during the festive period.
Throughout December, our ever-generous Team OSKA has been collecting food donations for The Beacon Church Food Bank here on the South Coast to bring hope, comfort, and full plates to those who need it most over Christmas and into the new year.
Let’s come together to share kindness and care — because Christmas is about giving.
Donating to Local Charities
To show our support in honour of Hospice Care Week 2024 and driving our ESG agenda, Team OSKA was tasked with digging around in their wardrobes for clothes that could be turned from ‘pre-loved’ into ‘RE-loved’. The theme for Hospice Care Week 2024 is Hospice Retail. With hospices facing huge financial pressures and a collective £77m funding deficit across the sector, fundraising, including income generated through their high street retail shops, is becoming increasingly vital to fund their services.
Our donations have gone to our local hospice high-street shops, doing our bit in keeping our charity shops well stocked and encouraging customers to buy, supporting their vital income generation.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
In September, OSKA hosted a Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support! As part of OSKA’s ESG drive and ensuring we are making a positive impact to those who deserve most, the Team baked sweet treats to sell and raise money for this important, life-changing charity.
With treats including Rocky Road, Loaded Brownies, Carrot Cake and Homemade Sausage rolls all on offer, the Bake Sale was a great success and we are proud to say we raised £320!
Donations from Coffee Mornings make a vital difference, helping Macmillan continue their services so people can find their best way through, from the moment they’re diagnosed, through treatment and beyond.
Beach Clean
As part of OSKA’s commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), the team worked together to collect litter and waste from our local beach after a sunny weekend on the South Coast. Team OSKA divided into two teams, each tasked with tackling a different area of the coast to cover as much space as possible. With our litter pickers, bin bags and high vis jackets, we were ready for action!
